Im really sorry to hear about this and I hope that everything goes fine with the surgery and hopefully after the surgery her parents and you can get on better terms and things work out between you two.

CRT monitors defently out, I have gone through a few of them boys but have not had a problem with my lcd screen (*Knocks on wood*).
Case fans, those seem to last quite some time along with some USB and Firewire cards...I still have a USB 1.0 card pluged in that I use to power my speakers and my USB wireless network adapter

Some people would look at that and say, wow 700-900, thats a lot, it must be fast!Read / write speed: 900Kbps, 700KbpsIt defently seems like a scam, I seriously doubt that a 1 GB flash drive can be made into an 8 GB with out actually taking it apart and swapping the memory out, even that does not seem very safe.

I would make some of the real names, like go with everything that Microsoft has already come out with and then put some linux os out there...
I would have them all as dummy os and the real os should be named Windows 3.1...who would guess that?
