The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

For quest help and just a general idea of how to get by in Skyrim, I highly recommend the UESP.

For mods, the ones Death listed are good. CBBE/UNP essentially remove the underwear on females in the game, but there is a never nude version of the CBBE (and maybe UNP too). Just an fyi.

This 2K HD mod is pretty great too, but it does take a hefty system to run well. Can't go wrong with Project Reality either. Or Immersive Armors.

So I got the manager. It reports versions being outdated but I downloaded right from the site. I click the new version icon but it takes me where I was? Is something wrong? Excuse my ignorance but I don't mod games typically. So it still downloads a 1.24 version when it says there is 1.25 for instance.

For the Nexus Mod Manager, you should be able to download the NMM version of a mod right off the site. I never mess with that though, IVI or one of the others who do may be able to help you.

I just download it manually and drag the files over into the Skyrim/Data folder. Little more work, but it's my preferred way of doing it.

Ignore the update alerts if you know you have the latest version, you can actually change mod names and version numbers/letters yourself so that feature is buggy

I guess the only other question is other than being able to see it is there anyway to tell its working right? The UI stuff is working good. So much better than the stock. I installed all the stuff you guys suggested.

Other than seeing it, not really. If something conflicts, like a texture or mesh, then you'll see a giant red exclamation point on whatever it's supposed to be. If you don't see that then you are all good.

Does anyone know of a realistic lighting mod that is .....realistic? All the ones I have tried all screw up the exposure wayyyy too much to be considered realistic.

I also increased the Ugrid to 11, and I get little artifacts on rare occasion off in the distance. While the Ugrid is a bit higher than it is supposed to be, this actually looks like it has to do with a shadowing glitch.

Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated.
