I'm not ready to buy a new MB and cpu. I just built the rig I have last year. I doesn't look like the 8700k can be used with my current MB.

Case:Cooler Master Sniper / Motherboard : ASUS ROG Maximus X hero (wi-fi)/ CPU: Intel Core i7 8086K / CPU HS:Corsair H100i V2
VGA: Nvidia 2080TI FE / Memory: Corsair vengeance LPX  16GB DDR4 3600 / SSD's:Samsung  960 evo M.2 500 gig  for OS + Samsung EVO 840 250g +WD Blue 500g
PSU: CoolMax 1200W / Monitor: Acer X34 @ 100 hz/ KB: CM Storm Trigger Z / Mouse: Razor Lachesis / OS: Windows 10 Home premium 64

 I have TI cards and an 8700 and cpus LOL!  Will be using the 8700 as the basis for my game testing rig with the next video card review.

Would you consider selling one of the TI cards ? I looking for the FE card.

I followed the link and it took me to a card thats already sold :( . BTW how important is the back plate ?

Does it act as a heatsink ?

Yea,.. it sold a few hours after I posted,.. you could have removed another and went to hardware store and most likely got a replacement screw.

 

I guess those cards have a two piece back plate,.. seller's listing said he removed plate to run SLI and lost one screw ?,.. and yes it's sort of a heatsink but not a big deal running with it removed, I would have just bought a screw and replaced it.
