Katch Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Just wanted to get an idea of what is considered acceptable voltage on a 3700+ Sandy. AMD rate it at 1.30 - 1.40, I'm hovering around 1.50 - 1.60 at the moment.
mack73 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 I'm between 1.55v and 1.65v. With good cooling, I don't see above 46c at 1.65v
freeeky Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Wow!!! 46c @1.65v???? What cooling are u using?
rise4310 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 1.4v + 110%, temps ~ idle, ~50 load
freeeky Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 rise, I have the same setup as u..... try getting the mems to 255mhz to reach a nice 2.8ghz, should be stable at that voltage.. Also, where did u got that temp readings??
Snook Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 I'm at 1.44V, 250x11 (2.75Ghz) 2-2-2-6. My temps at load are CPU 38*C, PWMIC 47*C, Chipset 49*C.
mack73 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Wow!!! 46c @1.65v???? What cooling are u using? I'm running an XP-90 with a Panaflow running at 7v because it was too loud for me. the panaflow is mounted to blow down on the heatsink. I also have a 120mm fan blowing over the chipset area as well. freeeky Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 that temps are strange.... im running a xp120 with a panaflo at 12v and im getting load temps of 50c @1.53v..... where did u got those readings?
mack73 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Temps are from MB5M, and cross referenced with the BIOS I guess I have abnormally good case airflow and the 120mm blowing over the chipset area (and XP-90) can't hurt
Snook Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 that temps are strange.... im running a xp120 with a panaflo at 12v and im getting load temps of 50c @1.53v..... where did u got those readings? Only smartguardian and MBM5 the modified version (got it through that loooong thread) Is there any other way of knowing?? I idle at 29*C. You are giving an extra 0.1V, but you have got a better cooler. Maybe my readings are messed up?? I do have 6 80mm fans (controlled ) Im not too worried. I'm only giving slightly more volts than stock and I have a good OC. Snook
freeeky Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 maybe I should start adding lots of fans in there.... Actual layout: 1x80mm front low side blowing to the other side (this crazy Vento layout...) 1x120mm back exhaust 1x120 side intake 1x120 cooling the Heatsink 1x80 blowing to the mosftets and ram (2 inches away)
Katch Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 You guys should work out what ambient you are both working at. If one of you has a room temp of 28-30 degrees and the other 10-12 that would explain vastly different results.
