OSKAR_WU Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Due to the a mistake made in 7/04 beta bios , do not use 'Above VID * 123%' 'Above VID * 126%' 'Above VID * 133%' 'Above VID * 136%' option under "CPU VID Special Control" The bios may have chance to set wrong vcore voltage under certain circumstances ... If the cpu can not handle the wrong core voltage , it may be damaged ... This problem has only been found in 7/04 bios and 'Above VID * 123%' , 'Above VID * 126%' , 'Above VID * 133%' , 'Above VID * 136%' are used ... If you did not use the 4 settings , it will be ok you if still want to use 7/04 bios ... Please help me to remove this bios around the internet ... I apologize for the this mistake ... suio Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Thank you Oskar. I had been on 704 bios for about 12 hours total and noticed some unusual things. I used 1.30 V +123%.

unreal Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Glad I saw this, was about to flash to it! I'll stick with 5/10fix(2)-2 (god thats confusing..) You know, the second release of fix, the 3rd 5/10.. bios. Ram tables -2...
uwackme Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Good thing I stuck with 618-2. One other item Oskar, would be to remove the Trcd = 2, +.1Vdimm that the bios puts into affect. I was thinking all along I was running 3.2V, and the bios/everest/MBM/etc all said I was running 3.2V but I WAS NOT. I was actually running 3.3Vdimm as measured by a DMM. If "some corsdair models" need this, then put an errata in the manual but DO NOT have the BIOS lie to us about what voltage is actually being set. This could be very bad for people "pushing" thier Vdimm. Also, doing 3.3Vdimm when bios is set to 3.2Vdimm AND when the 3.3V rail jumper position is used could lead to instability issues that will confuse the heck out of people who THINK the Vdimm they set was 3.2. Please REMOVE this "goose" of the Vdimm based on Trcd=2 in the next bios release. Thanks for all your efforts Oskar, no other manufacturer is even bothering to bother, we all appreciate your efforts at making the boards better and better. We will "get there" eventually
RGone Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Well, I jus be shett. Like soundx98 I have had the 704-2 running since it came out at 1.250 + 126% and picked up the ability to finally push this 3800+ Venice to over 2800mhz total on air and prime stable. I jus be shett far. Hehehehehe. RGone...
uwackme Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 Before you do anything RGone, pull out the DMM and check your Vcore. This Vcore you are at now is helpoing you, preserve that datapoint
