Rabbi Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 A few guys are starting to get Newark Mobiles and they seem to be working great on the nF3 DFI UT. Would all those that have bought one please post their results and thoughts? Things I'd like to know are: Which speed grade did you get (3400+, 3700+, etc)? What did you upgrade from? Have you had any problems, have any weird things happened? Did it improve your RAM overclock? Are strawberries the only berry with seeds on the outside? What CPU speeds are you able to hit? What cooling are you using? Anything else you think is worth mentioning... I'm thinking of buying one for sheets and giggles, but I want to know the hassle & money involved is worth it. Cheers Rabb
Skip04 Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 The strawberry, a member of the rose family, is the only fruit with seeds on the outside. There are approximately 200 seeds on every strawberry. Sorry, the only one I can answer for you. LOL
Rabbi Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Hahahahahahahahaha I posted that earleir on today and forgot I'd done it, then I'm reading your post and thinking what's this guy been smoking?!! Hehehe Thanks for the heads up... I'll share the wisdom with those that had the same question
Evil XP2400 Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 I just got mine in the mail yesterday. I got a 3700, and I'm upgrading from a DTR3200. I havent pushed it all the way yet, but so far I've gotten it to 255x11 @ 1.55v and it's been running prime95 since yesterday around 6pm EST without any freezes or errors. My cooling consists of a Danger Den TDX Block, Hydor L35 Pump, and Dual Heater Core with 2 120mm Panaflo Mediums. Temps are 29C idle, and 35C load. The CPU was totally worth it. I had my DTR overclocked to 265x10 and it did 12010 points in the sandra CPU benchmark, the new cpu at stock speeds 200x12 managed 11159, thats only 50 points less than my previous cpu, which had 200mhz advantage and an extra 65mhz of FSB. I really feel the difference in performance. I'm currently using oskar WU 10/15 bios but I'm gonna flash to the 4/15 betas today since they have something updated for Rev E CPU's. I'm gonna let the cpu burn in a few days and then I'm gonna go for the big 3, if it doesnt happen then I'll have to get a new PSU and try again. The voltages on my xconnect dropped a little since last week so I think it might be dying on me.
(cf)eclipse Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Which speed grade did you get (3400+, 3700+, etc)? the only one that i believe is available at the time of writing, 3700+ What did you upgrade from? 3200+ clawhammer that topped out at 2.3ghz Have you had any problems, have any weird things happened? it's very picky with my ram.. especially the Max Async Latency. if i'm off by more than 1ns, i get a raid array screen and can't get into windows. Did it improve your RAM overclock? with two sticks in, yes, from ~235mhz to ~255mhz. one stick is still at 265mhz Are strawberries the only berry with seeds on the outside? raspberries! What CPU speeds are you able to hit? normally run at 2.7ghz with 1.45v 2.85ghz with 1.57v is stable superpi 1m at 2.95ghz and 1.65v What cooling are you using? zalman cnps-7000a tweaked to deal with the lack of heatspreader Anything else you think is worth mentioning... my chip doesn't like >1.65v, i'm assuming because of temps with the air cooling. also, i can't boot with 3 sticks in at 1T
Rabbi Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Until now I didn't realise... (cf)eclipse <---> ozzimark . Good to see you here man Thanks for your input bro ... PS, Raspberries do NOT have seeds on the outside...
slow'puter Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Which speed grade did you get (3400+, 3700+, etc)? 3700+ What did you upgrade from? 3200+ Newcastle Have you had any problems, have any weird things happened? Nope Did it improve your RAM overclock? Nope. Still maxing out at 257 Are strawberries the only berry with seeds on the outside? They are the only fruit I had today with my dessert What CPU speeds are you able to hit? Overclocked it briefly to 2.9 Ghz, but it was unstable. Tested at 2.8 Ghz and have it running at 2.790 Ghz What cooling are you using? TDX waterblock, Mag3 pump, double heater core with 4 120mm in a pull/push configuration. Anything else you think is worth mentioning... BIOS 4/15/

3Tripnip Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Which speed grade did you get (3400+, 3700+, etc)? 3400+, in the mail, should get it today What did you upgrade from? 3200+ Clawhammer, topped out at 2.4Ghz Have you had any problems, have any weird things happened? Don't know yet. Did it improve your RAM overclock? Don't know yet. Are strawberries the only berry with seeds on the outside? I think so. What CPU speeds are you able to hit? Hoping to do around 2.8-3.0 (RAM will probably max out around 275) What cooling are you using? Water, Swiftech MCW6000-64, 2x120mm radiator Anything else you think is worth mentioning... The RAM I'll be using with it is the Corsair XMS PC4000Pro... heard it won't go past around 275... but we'll see. I've also got 2x512mb of Geil Ultra Platinum PC4000, so I'll test with that too. Pick whichever is better.
(cf)eclipse Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 i thought i'd bump this, bios 5/4 gives better ram support. i can now boot with ram in non-consecutive slots. haven't gotten around to testing 3 dimms though
