saxo Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Hi, i've got a question about flashing to the new bios. Will the process delete my saved profile in "CMOS RELOADED"? Thanks.
BLJ Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Using a floppy is _NOT_ secure. Floppys have a nasty habit of corrupting files. Stupid as I am, i have killed several boards following Asus' instructions. Use Winflash or a CD-ROM... or put it (Bios image & awdflash) on a FAT Partition, boot up with floppy and flash then from HDD! u're right, floppy suxx. i'm using winflash. faster changing between bios'. Never ever destroyed a Bios this way... cya
PsyCor Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 No, flashing the bios will not delete any saved settings in CMOS Reloaded. BUT you should NOT load them after flashing with a totally new bios as there might be new set of inputs or ones that have been removed. So, what you should do is write them down/remember them and input them again by hand after the flash.
Eric Adams Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Yes! The 310 BIOS solved my problems with the Ballistix. Memtest all night at 2-8V, 200Mhz, 2-2-2-7 = NO ERRORS  While this should be no big feat, I was unable to even boot at these timings on 2/17, 2/18 BIOS - not to mention 1/25. It seems this board has come out of public beta test, and entered production. Thx Mr. Wu

Hippey Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 So anyone got any performance to report between 310 and 310p?
rhiridflaidd Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I'm still meddling with the 310 at the moment -and without a doubt they are far more stable with the ballistix. I'm memtest error free at 3h at 240fsb, but haven't been able to push it to 250. Lowering the values of trfc, trrd and twr's etc. as XTcqr has done above cetainly stabilised my memory - but i'm still testing. And being a novide - this might take some time and luck/
