Angry_Games Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Oskar and I came up with idea that to get idea of what everyone's temps are and what cpu they are using (as well as what BIOS). Since there's some variation and incorrect reporting of temps...we'll do this the scientific way lol this is what we need from you if you will be willing to help us out: 1. screenshot of your cpu-z 2. screenshot of your smartguardian or bios screen (we only need one or the other if they both reporting the same temps...if bios shows different temps than smart guardian by more than 5°C, please include both pics or at least the smart guardian + type in the BIOS temps if you dont have a way to take pic of bios screen) 3. touch the base of your heatsink if its reading very warm (50°C or higher). Tell us if its cool, warm, hot etc. 3a. if you have a temp probe from your case or a digital thermal temp probe or a temp probe from your bay controller etc...take a measurement of the base/bottom of the heatsink and tell us what temp you get. 4. Finally, tell us what bios you have. ============================================= NF3 UT 250Gb 2800+ Newcastle @ 250FSB 1:1 (2250Mhz) SLK-948U 1. 2. 3. feels only slightly warm, like 35°C is correctly reported. 3a. my Aspire bay controller temp probe shows 31°C at the base of the sink, which is about right, 5°-10°C off because its not right on the core/spreader of the cpu to take the temp =) 4. jess1313's 9/14 bios (9/14/2004)

Angry_Games Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Allan: i dont want load under prime95...need to measure normal temps...temps vary too much under load with different cooling/setups please also do #3 and either touch the sink to see if the temps are correct/close or #3a and measure with a different probe. if your temps show 60C and yet your sink is just barely warm...then we need to know that icywater: not really...but if your temps are very odd and are much different than smartguardian/bios shows then yea
