Arkadiy Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I pretty much want one of these TVs and I really can't decide which one to get: Plasma or LCD I did my research and I can't tell which one is better. The plasma is $100 cheaper but I hear they don't have as long of life spans. I am really confused and am buying 1 or the other within the next 2 hours so I would REALLY appreciate any help given. Thanks once again.
sdy284 Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 (edited) plasma contrast ratio: 10000:1 LCD contrast ratio: 1600:1 but the LCD has a little better resolution (although both res' suck) personally, i wouldn't touch either set and i'd save my money and buy a decent TV Edited February 10, 2007 by sdy284

swifty11212 Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Plasma can suffer from burn-in while LCD do not have to worry about that.
ClayMeow Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 you should be able to find a decent NAME BRAND for around $1500-2k. I wouldn't recommend those either.

I thought 1920 x 1080 was full HD. But anyways, my parents bought this TV and its basically amazing. Oh and LCD tv's have a much longer lifespan than plasmas, so its a better investment.
