swifty11212 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Hey guys, well more less this is what I am aiming for my new rig that I may build soon. I am missing the motherboard and video card(s). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817703008 pc power and cooling 750w psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231065 g.skill ddr2 HZ http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...oductCode=80860 conroe e6600 http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=141800 cm stacker http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=211159 g15 keyboard http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=211158 g5 mouse http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=101451 seagate 500gig sata drive As I have been told in another thread, the eVga 680i has problems so I don't think that will be a viable choice. Video card(s) options will be what ever gets games going and DX10 will NOT be a major choice as by the time Crysis arrives I may pick up a DX10 card. Since I will be having 2x pci-e rigs I do not see a problem (besides financial) since my 7800gtx as great as she is showing her age and well... tends to shift to "low power" while playing guild wars will be replaced later on. I'll have to look in to a monitor soon, anything below 1600x1200 is just unacceptable hehe but that View Sonic CRT doing 2048x1536 looks good edit: I think I will go with these too. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813131025 ASUS P5W DH DELUXE http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=321363 -ati x1950xtx gpu

They are cheap ($250) and ati's R600 should be released in a few months, and that WILL hold you off till then

Bosco Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 My only suggestion is that motherboard I would go with Abit
swifty11212 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 My only suggestion is that motherboard I would go with Abit thanks for the link, I'll have to check the price on it later and I am sorta leaning towards CF support for later on though. But the gpu will be last to pick though.
Bosco Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Only reason I am suggesting it is because of possible issues with DFI's warranty down the road.

Ah thanks, I havent had issues with my dfi board that needed and RMA, but thanks for the heads up. I guess sometimes good companies can go bad. What kind of issues you reckon may happen with the warranty down the road though? What about this Asus board though? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813131025

As for the warranty for DFI the issue would be them not being able to give you a RMA when there is nobody there to answer the phone <_>

I think I will go with that Asus board though.

swifty11212 Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 The US team try the whole company I guess I'm SOL on my sli-dr should something happen to it. I'm going to edit the top post to reflect the motherboard changes.
caffeinejunkie Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 (edited) The US team try the whole company Wait you mean DFI is going out of business? I find that highly unlikely since they're a major industrial board supplier or atleast they were at one time.
