What browser did you guys use to download Firefox??? i bet most of you will say IE.... 475119[/snapback] Actually, I technically never have to use IE again, even if I format my computer. I have the Firefox install file on a secondary drive. So whenever I reinstall Windows, first thing I do after installing my graphics driver is Firefox. I don't even have to use IE for Windows Update since that's automated. I maybe encounter one or two sites a MONTH where I have to use IE. RichMayo Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 You could delete IE (I hope that doesn't blow up Windows, I haven't tried it myself) and then install your preferred browser, rename the start up icons/Start Menu items, and deny all knowledge of the change. "Wow, Sweetie, MS must have sent out an update...." Then put Ad-Aware & Spybot in the startup routine.... I know you can configure Spybot to scan and clean automatically. Talking to some kid today and he just discovered how firefox was so much better then IE he said no more pop-ups and my computer goes faster even thought a long time ago I told him to switch did listen. To make her use it you could disbale the IE by blocking it acess to the net by useing a firewall then she will have to use firefox or opera. Little will she know, im going to do it myself next time I am over at her house. I bet if you switched to FF my GF/ your mom wouldn't notice. Heck, import all of their favorites! Oh yea, lets IGNORE the fact that IE is so insecure that not even the programs that I'm suppose to recommend as a trained HijackThis specialist can keep your computer clean. Yup.
