How Much For My Computer

Recommended Posts

Now that I have my laptop, I am thinking of selling my computer. My laptop isn't as good for gaming, but the only game I really play is warcraft III anyway. I'd like to try to sell it to local shops, but if anyone here is willing to pay shipping I'll sell it here. I'm mostly interested in getting a decent asking price for it.

How much would you charge?

Samsung 712N monitor

Infinity Ultra B Motherboard

Mobile 2500+ good for up to 2600mhz (though I obviously can't guarantee speeds)

1 gig OCZ pc3200 EL, runs 200mhz at 2-3-2-6

Leadtek 6800nu able to unlock all six vertex shaders, and overclocks very well (don't remember exact clocks, I am on my laptop now :P)

Seagate 120gb SATA hard drive

Audigy 2 ZS

enermax 460w power supply (over 30a on the +12)

Custom DangerDen watercooling with a 2x120mm radiator, a hydor l30, TDX waterblock, dangerden fillport, and tygon tubing.

Its a great system. Its rock stable and everything is responsive and fast. I get around 10k in 3dmark03, without much work. I've never had the patience to go for a high benchmark because I think 3dmark is boring to watch :P

The case is still a w.i.p. Since its my own design, and I am not done, I may purchase a new case before selling it. You'll notice the tubing in front, and the interior painting. I try to keep it as clean as possible.

note: desk, keyboard, and mouse not included :P

Feel free to make on offer on individual components, but I ask, if you make an offer, please make a suggestion for the price of the whole system, whether or not you plan on buying it. This will help me build a fair asking price in the future.

I'll provide reference on request. Sorry, but I have not used ebay or heatware enough to generate feedback. I have dealt with some reputable members of this forum, however. Gimme a PM, and MAKE OFFERS!!

I have basically the same system but a 2600+ and not a mobile but can reach 2.6 easy and no water cooling i would sell it for at least 1000+ just because of all the time and effort put to build it and im sure you tweaked and I'm sure you spent more then 1000 on it one time or another so a 1000 sounds fair

That's going to be hard to get full value out of in my opinion. You can watercool that slug CPU all day, but a nice $180 Intel or AMD cpu will smoke it with standard cooling.

Nice RAM, decent video card, decent sound card. I'd bet you'll be lucky to get $800 unless you find someone who wants to move that watercooling stuff over to a modern cpu.

Just my $.02, don't take it as an insult or anything. That CPU was good stuff at one time.

the only thing that is wrong with the thing is that its Socket A, huge drawback, Id say 700 w/o the MB and CPU and about 850 with it.

video card is awsome,

I love the title, How much for my FIRST computer.

OK, off topic, but....

I don't have it any more, but in 1991, my first PC, I paid $3,200 for an IBM PS-2, 386 SX with 2 MB of memory and a 60 MB hard drive, a 15" CRT (color), and an HP Laser jet II

Within a month, I went back and bought another 2MB of memory for $199... Then I added a SB 16-bit Sound card, another $250. That is $3650, plus probably another $500 in software. I think it took me 2 years to pay it all off.

Don't remember what happened to the PC, the monitor died after about 5 years.

But that was my FIRST PC,

I'd ssay sell no LESS than 800, because the amount of effort it took to get that w/c system like that. Sure the components arent the greatest but the quality of the workmanship is excellent.
