anthony Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 xp 120 is hudge, can be obstruct by capacitors beside the socket on your mobo, may cover AGP slot.

Bosco Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 I'm actually reviewing this heat sink as I speak. Like roadkill said, this thing is HUGE! It's the largest heat sink that I've ever reviewed, if that means anything. As for the performance, well.. I first thought MBM had a glitch in it because the temps were so much lower than my Alpha heat sink. Needless to say, the performance appears to be outstanding thus far. I'm very happy with it from what I'm seeing, but it's somewhat of a pain to install.

Newb_ocer Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 (edited) Sp-97? Isnt that for Socket A, and isnt Xp-120 only for k8 and p4? So really were comparing apples and oranges. Xp-120 does not work wih MSI k8n neo platinum, so dont even try. Edited August 18, 2004 by Newb_ocer

Xp-120 does not work wih MSI k8n neo platinum, so dont even try. nooo....please know what you are talking about before you say something. the sp-97 is compatible with socket a, socket 754, socket 478 and socket 939...just look that up. same thing with the xp-120. also...why would i care if it doesn't fit the k8n? i'm not using one...sorry. btw...we wouldn't be comparing apples and oranges... the sp-97 is made of all copper, yet the xp-120 is made of a copper base (possible nickel plated) and the rest is aluminum. the sp-97 has only 3 heatpipes, yet the xp-120 has 5. the sp-97 mounts a 92mm fan, and the xp-120 mounts a 120mm. they are completely different...why do you insist that you think they aren't? btw matt...what kind of temps did you get/which processor were you using? First of all.. woah, calm down. I also thought the sp-97 was a socket A cooler, and the thermalright website seems to agree. sp-94 is P4 and xp-120 is K8/P4.. this is only thermalrights website of course.. I could be wrong (maybe there is more compatibility but they just don't tell you?).. The xp-120 does look awesome though.. shame I can't use one. hardnrg Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 I'm actually reviewing this heat sink as I speak. Please tell me you have a 120mm Delta featuring in the review... FanATIc205 said he was gonna be doing a review and said he'd be using high airflow fans like a delta in there...
