OptikaliLLusion Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Alright, so finally I get my new motherboard, a DFI NFII Ultra Infinity Rev. A. I put in the CPU and RAM and junk, then proceed to put the mobo into my case. After several attempts to get the PS/2 and other ports through that dang frame, I ditch the frame. So I put in the mobo, screw it in, and realize that the AGP and PCI ports don't align correctly with the holes to let them through. My blood temperature probably rose past safe levels at this moment. Is there any way I can get this craplet to fit without buying a new case? Oh, and if I move the mobo to make them fit, I can't screw it in and the Bass port is blocked. PS: Now we get censored? markiemrboo Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Urgh.. how annoying that must be. What case is it?
OptikaliLLusion Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Chieftec "Ultra"(i think) Dragon Mid-T. With the see through window, not the server one.
markiemrboo Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Not something old then. Hmm, you are screwing the motherboard into the right holes on the ... motherboard plate ... I assume?
OptikaliLLusion Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Yep EDIT: What cases do you guys with the Infinities use?
Some_Guy_ Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Mine lines up perfectly in my case, and it's a cheapo generic POS. There's no way you're lining it up right, or using the right holes or something.
Mangar Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Are you sure that you used the Motherboard Standoff's ? between the M/B and the tray ?

OptikaliLLusion Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 The standoffs are the things you screw into the case, right? I've tried the standoffs on the closest to the bottom of the case, but even then i can't screw the board in when I align it to the proper holes. Mangar Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Yes they are those "things" that will spearate the M/B from the case mounting. It is very important that these be installed. They not only keep the M/B grounded, but keeps it from shorting out.
OptikaliLLusion Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 Well, they're installed. The problem seems to be that the holes where the standoffs go are not in the right place for my mobo to be aligned with the slots.
