IIxNullxII Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 My 2016 build will be my first complete new build. I have done many builds in the past for clients, but never for my self. Like most of us, I re-used my old parts to keep cost down. Not this time! This time I'm going big. And, in the words of Hammond, "Spared no expense." Without further adieu, I list my specs: Monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236399 ASUS PB287Q Black 28" 4K UHD 1ms 10-bit HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor height&Pivot adjustable 300 cd/m2 100,000,000:1 Video Card (2x): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487142 EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 06G-P4-4995-KR 6GB SC+ GAMING w/ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling w/ Free Installed Backplate Graphics Card Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128835 GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117559 Intel Core i7-6700K 8M Skylake Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80662I76700K Desktop Processor Intel
Onion Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Sweet build. Out of curiosity, why an Evo 850 and a Pro 850 instead of 2x Pro 850?

Wesstron Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Nice build and great choice of components. But why not go with a nicer, more up to date chassis? I still have my HAF932 and love that tank of a case lol,but there are better options out there. Unless you are going for that specific look. IIxNullxII Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Finished the build except for some cable management. Only two issues: 1. Having trouble entering the BOIS, the keyboard is not responding till after POST, probably try a different port or an older PS/2 KB. 2. OS (10 pro 64) not seeing 250gb SSD or 4TB HDD, suspect either incompatibility with SATA ports/lanes since I have M.2 working and 2x GPUs.
