Tjj226_Angel Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Not like it totally matters considering the phantom doesn't have a window, but you should probably pick up some black zip ties from walmart for a couple bucks. You could pull all those loose wires at the base of the power supply to the side and clean up the look a lot. Secondly, get some of that brownish color corsair vengeance ram to swap out for the blue. Lastly, I believe your heatsink/top fan is a bit screwed up. From your pictures you have your top fan as an exhaust and your heatsink fan as an exhaust. Your top fan is basically starving your heatsink of air. Try turning your heatsink around so that it acts as an intake. I would also recomend that instead of using two fans in push pull that you get a single noctua fan. This will give you more space for your top fan to exhaust the air, your heatsink would be a lot quieter, and the color would match up. (this really isn't dire for you to do, but you can probably OC your i7 to 4.8 ghz when you fix your heatsink issue) I think if you do all of that you will have a more more sleek looking PC. I'll make a note of that.. Good observation... I have since improved the cable management. I'd love to swap out the ram but I build this last summer so I can't send the ram back anymore XD. Those Vengeance modules' prices have skyrocketed since.. Edit: Whoops.. Just realized that those are RipjawsX modules Other than those tiny details here and there, it's a good looking build! I did rearrange it, the temps have dropped 2-3 degrees compared to when it was sucking air out. I'll post pictures when I get my 2nd 200mm fan and a couple of extra toys to add onto the case haha. Also about to order the window panel for the Phantom. My current side panel has gotten some ugly scratches from moving to lan parties and such. Better looking than the white ones IMO I agree the black ones look better than the white NZXT Phantoms... To bad the black ones dont get that exclusive red trim that the white one has available.... But a little bit of paint here and their shouldn't be to hard. Probably gonna be going with blue paint I decide to paint anything on the case. Should have been more like 5 or 6 considering the other fan was starving the air from your cooler. What are your temps and voltages? What are your temps and voltages? temps? I can't get you a exact read at the moment due to the fact I'm at work.. using a co-workers macbook..... But my usual temps are around 35-44C when idling jumps to 70C when folding@home is on. 75C is the max temp I see it at when I'm overclocked to 4.5Ghz.... As for voltage I'm at 1.375, I couldn't get a stable clock at 1.350 or below. Room Temps are pretty warm around 84-81F. Even an H80 on a i7 3770K at 4.7 ghz gets about the same temps, and those chips will heat up fast. Something is wrong with your setup. I have two questions. Question 1: what TIM are you using? Question 2 might be a stupid question but are the fans that are mounted on your H80 oriented in the same position (as an intake)? Lastly, can you post your BIOS settings under overclocking? This was the summer of 2011. It's a H70 I wish I had a H80 instead lol.... the fans are mounted to take air out of the case. As for bios settings huh?
