Syromieshi Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 has anyone ever taken the hs fan and flipping it upside down? ive did this a few days ago and i got at least 4 degrees cooler on my cpu. i know this isnt a huge leap in degrees but 4 is 4 less then when i started. i was thinking of using this with a fan duct mod blowing cool air towards the cpu. what do you think? FunkyMonkey Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 do u mean so the fan sucks heat from the cpu instead of blowing on it?

tbone2sk Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 i'm think the only way that would work if his case temp is high and takes the hot air away from the heatsink
exeter_acres Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 This has been discussed MANY times.... each persons results will vary... most heat sinks are designed to have the fan blowing down on to it... However, I had better results witha Volcano9 with it pulling the air up.... and on my SLK-800, it didn't matter ... but blowing down does help a bit wiht chipset temps... Try it both ways and measure the temps and stick with the way that works best in your case... There is no wrong way
BeatRyder Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 I have a volcano12 and it raised my temps about 4 degrees when I flipped my fan around, however, I did find that cleaning the dust off of the HS did lower my temps.
