Omerta101 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I have the i7-2600k and the Gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3, I know I can OC the i7 plenty, but not sure where to start with the mobo, anyone have experience with this motherboard? El_Capitan Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 You have a H67 motherboard, you can only overclock the base clock (not recommended). I'd recommend getting a Z68, or at least a P67 if you want to overclock it using the multiplier like you should be doing.
d6bmg Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 i7-2600k + h67 based mobo is a bad combo. Opt for P67/Z68 based motherboards. Otherwise, i7-2600 + h67 based motherboard.
Omerta101 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Thanks Guys, Suppose I will need to go boxing day shopping after all! I will post back once I come closer to buying it! In your opinions what is a better Mobo though, the P67 or Z68?
Tjj226_Angel Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Thanks Guys, Suppose I will need to go boxing day shopping after all! I will post back once I come closer to buying it! In your opinions what is a better Mobo though, the P67 or Z68? Z68. P67 is sort of the older model. Just make sure the board has 2 gen 3 pci slots and has a really good power phase and you should be all set.
d6bmg Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Z68. Although P67 is also good.
