dling Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Im currently running OCCT V 3.1 on my desktop in sig. The highest temp is hitting 71deg c on one of the cores rest are lower. Is this too hot or OK? I'm thinking OK but not sure. The occt program runs the cpu at a much harder then it would be in normal use. Am I ok or not ? Black64 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 That seems quite hot to me. Thats a good CPU cooler, do you have any fans on it? Also may want to check if it's seated right.
Waco Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 71 with that test is well within the safe limit for your CPU.
dling Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 71 with that test is well within the safe limit for your CPU. Thanks. That was what I was hopping to hear. It's a hard test. Almost 1hr at 100% cpu.
Boinker Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Your good IMHO. I try not to let it get over 80c and I'm happy with it. 71c is an excellent temp for That processor. That is actually cooler then the stock temps under load with my stock cooler. Lol

Speedway Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 The stock 1366 coolers are just that bad!

Krieg1337 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 What volts is it at? Looks great to me to be honest. Especially on air cooling.
dling Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 vcore is at 1.38v
Krieg1337 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 vcore is at 1.38v Then that is pretty good, although damn that vcore is freaking high for 3.6ghz. I have mine at 1.375 for 4.0ghz(4.2ghz with turbo) and I get max temps of around 68C(never actually got that high most of the time, mostly 66C on the hottest) and this is with watercooling, so yeah your fine . I really need to get some fans on this GTX 240...nothing blowing on it isn't helping lol
