pachal Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Hi, I am looking to overclock my I7 950 bloomfield to 4.2 Ghz. Would a corsair H80 or a H100 be a good choise?
IVIYTH0S Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 I'd get the Frio OCK if you don't have tall memory

Boinker Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 That is true but can we all stay true to the op's question and be nice. Yes, an h80 should take you to 4.0ghz maybe a bit better and so should an h100. As ivy said you may be able to get to 4.20 ghz with a cheaper air solutions such as the frio or a noctua d-14. But its all up to you.

Coors Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 i think water cooling sucks Nah, it has it's benefits as well as downsides. Just another option in cooling choices. Options are a good thing.

The self contained units can be outperformed by a noctua D-14 just as easily as the D-14 is smoked by a custom Water cooling loop with a dual radiator and a decent pump. Try this kit.XSPC rasa kit. I would be willing to bet it outperforms anything you have used and isn't expensive for what it is.
