Waco Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 If you don't game why are you looking to watercool your CPU? A large heatsink with a low speed fan would be more preferable if all you want is a silent PC.

Locutus Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 i have always liked the thought of watercooling my pc one day lol It winds up taking a whole lot of maintenance. More than you'd think. For a beginner, I'd suggest something like the Coolit ECO ALC, or the Vantage. I also hear the Corsair H50 and H70 are nice
dario_92 Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 i looked into the H50 and H70 but i am not sure what one is better ?
Waco Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 (edited) It winds up taking a whole lot of maintenance. More than you'd think. Well, not really. Keeping an eye on water levels and flushing it once a year isn't really that difficult. i looked into the H50 and H70 but i am not sure what one is better ? The H70 is better in terms of capacity if you're going to be really pushing your CPU overclock. Either would be overkill for you if you're keeping your CPU @ stock speeds. Hemidare Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 So i guess for the best answer is if you are keeping your cpu at stock speeds you don't need anything special the Corsair H50 is a good cooler i have run it and it was good and quiet. If you are looking to go for a bit of an OC then the H70 is a good option, but i personally went with the NH-D14 and am very happy with the performance. dario_92 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Does anyone know the temp difference between h50 or h70 and the noctua Nh-d14 ?
Waco Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Does anyone know the temp difference between h50 or h70 and the noctua Nh-d14 ? It really depends on what chip you have under it. It's unlikely any of the three would limit you when pushing an E5300.

ebarone Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Is THIS worth getting as i do not game and this is my first watercooling kit ? No. Invest your money in the stock market or Forex. Your current CPU cooler is more than adequate for a stock CPU.
