Waco Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 banned xboxs means you can't use your gamertag or it will corrupted the file and make you redownload when you get on live. you can unflag the profile but thats every single time you play a game. also you can't stream Avi, WMV, etc since its disabled. Who does care for gamerscore? It's pathetic how some people "compete" in gamescore. A complete different question, is it possible to modify a ps3 firmware to make it capable of running linux? they patched it about a month ago.. They are trying to enable PSP playability on the PS3 (without a PSP), re-enabling OtherOS, allowing NTFS externals, and etc. Only works on PS firmware 3.41 though. If you've upgraded your out of luck. Currently if you do this, you're required to apply a block on your PS3 from the internet, so you won't be able to play online. It's a softmod. You install through many devices (Droid phone, iPhone/iPod Touch, TI-84 Silver Edition Graphing Calculator, and etc). Currently this mod lets you backup your PS3 games to the OS drive or an external. You will be able to load off the games through the OS drive or external. As for using Linux on the PS3, I heard it was kinda slow. Wouldn't be worth installing it on there over any PC/Laptop you have at home. Unless someone manages to port over XBMC or Boxee.
