Erriah Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I actually don't know much abt os versions, so I guess ill stick to vista ultimate 32bit
_TheAlexO Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 that is a beast of a system go for it! i didnt really see any problems. i mean 8 gig is a little crazy for gaming (im using 2gig fine) , but i dont really know what your doing with your system edit: DEFINITELY go for 64 bit. to buy 8gb of ram then run a 32-bit OS is blasphemy !!!! Nyt Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 32 bit would limit your System RAM and video card ram too much . 32 bit is restricted to 3.5gb . The video card ram of the HD5970 4gb would be mapped into that so it would leave you with 1.5gb of ram left .For eyefinity to work decently , you need 64 bit so all 8gb of system ram and all 4gb of video ram can be used . Erriah Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 just googled 64-bit and now I'm sure ill run that. the 8gig is much needed, my previous pc had 2gb bt it doesn't hold up well when converting vids while gaming, which is what I usually do
Nyt Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 On 64bit that build will be fantastic, you won't be dissappointed .

The Smith Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 If you have the money, go for 8GB. Also, that hexa-core will handle encoding and gaming at the same time quite well since we're talking about the utilization of many threads at the same time.
