I like Tom Clancy books and Richard Marcinko books alot. I prefer: Rainbow Six The hunt for the Red October and the Splinter Cell series. My_Inner_Fred Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 (edited) I think I've read rainbow six before in the past I think.. one of them Tom Clancy books, I don't remember which one. I don't think my teacher will like me doing a essay on a fighting/assassin book. Keep it in the school safe range please. But good suggestions none the less. Well theres always Everybody poops............ Stuart Little was ok. I liked it when I was younger. (Dont judge me) The Da Vinci code was good. But if she would'nt approve of Assassinations she wouldn't having her faith challenged. Edited March 1, 2010 by CAINuKe

Angels & Demons was awesome, but again probably wouldn't approve THAT either. Any guidelines?
malmsteenisgod Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 (edited) The Kingdom of Matthias: A Story of . and Salvation in 19th Century America Benjamin Franklin by Edmund S. Morgan (Biography). Better yet, read Franklin's autobiography. I'm just going through some history books I have lying around. What grade is this? danieljury3 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 (edited) I recommend anything by Peter f. Hamilton. Great science fiction author but his books do have some swearing and violence so might not be allowed. CowKing Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 hmm, that seems strange that she would limit your learning just because she doesn't like the books you read I would recommend the Halo series, but again that's "out of bounds" The Bible? oh wait there's violence in that too A Series Of Unfortunate Events was REALLY good just pick a book you've already read before and try your hardest to remember it

OwinC Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 You can always go with the classic. A Tale of Two Cities
PruritusAni Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 If sci-fi is legit I'd recommend some Douglas Adams -think Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency or the HHGTTG series (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, Life the Universe and Everything, So Long and Thanks for All the Fish, Mostly Harmless). His stuff is hilarious, rather clever and makes for some very awesome reading. Arthur C Clarke's Childhood's End is a more serious book that's also very good. If sci-fi s not legitimate how about some just sci? Michio Kaku writes some awesome yet very accessible books about physics like Parallel Worlds, Physics of the Impossible, Hyperspace. Stephen Hawking also had a few very accessible books like Brief history of time, Black holes and baby universes, The universe in a nutshell. And then there's always a good novel, like Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, Mark Twain's Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn, or some John Steinbeck. There's a lot of other books that turn out to be surprisingly good. I'm sure just picking up any book laying around the house that looks like a solid read has the potential to trap you in a few hours of awesome reading. Hope my suggestions help and remember reading a book is not about making your teacher happy. Ultimately you ought to read for yourself for a book that you enjoy is more likely to yield a good essay.
