They will probably make a tutorial for the game later on. The singleplayer is suppose to help you learn the game, but its not enabled in the MP Beta.

 

I'm basically relearning the entire game, a lot has changed from RO 1. Maybe I'll do a tutorial video sometime.

The game is plenty buggy and may frustrate some users, so I took the liberty to compile a few common issues and their fixes.

 

Server Browser Reports 0 servers found and 0 Filtered

Finding the Performance Thief!

There is no sp campaign in beta

Game Crashing/Lagging on Serverbrowser

Corsair HS1 USB Headset Causes the game to crash

If you have a crash, Give us the dump file

The Game Won't Launch/Crashes at Launch

My key bindings are screwed (can't move/shoot)

Some menus may disappear if you play in Windowed Mode or use Enforced AA (with AMD or Nvidia Driver Software)

3 new maps for Beta inbound!

 

Grain Elevator - the iconic battle site in the south of Stalingrad featuring long range infantry fighting outdoors and room to room close quarters combat inside

Red October Factory - night-time fighting in the factory ruins on an epic scale with infantry and tanks fighting side by side

Barracks - a mix of close-quarter and medium-range combat, sure to be a fan favorite

 

There cycling the new maps in latter tonight and so far it's unknown weather there going to remove the maps currently in rotation.

Patch was delayed until tomorrow morning, due to last minute errors.

 

- Turned on Speedhack detection and added a system to allow server admins to decide what to do with a player when they are detected using a speedhack (kick, session ban, or permanent ban).

- Fixed PreStartDuration not working properly which caused the round to start prematurely after a map change.

- Fixed getting stuck with a zoomed FOV when using grenades

- Added ability to turn off anti-aliasing

- Fixed floating meshes when a player dies

- Fixed destructibles not updating their shadows when destroyed

- Fixed DOF inside tanks

- The ranked server system is now operational

- Player progression stats are now saving and loading

- Unranked servers are now showing up as unranked in the browser

- Realism modes are hooked up and functional

- Killing a tank now gives extra points based on the number of players in the tank

- New map list: Gumrak, Grain Elevator, Barracks, Red October Factory

- Team balance changes. Commanders and top scoring players no longer get team swapped on death. The role select menu will not appear immediately to make it more obvious that you have died. Also, fixed a bug where an axis soldier could spawn on the allied team or vice versa.

- Fixed some HUD icons sticking around on the screen

- Fixed Countdown ending with time still on the clock

- Fixed automatically firing your weapon sometimes when respawning

- Fixed some issues with scoring in Firefight and prevented running out of reinforcements in this game type

- F10 will now cancel a pending server connection properly when stuck on a loading screen

Patch is out, 1.1 GB size. Yoshrio said the server browser doesn't seem to be working atm, and that people should use console command to connect via IP address for now.

 

The changelog for this patch, is posted above.

 

EDIT:

 

Barracks and Grain Elevator are pretty fun maps.

 

When Kittens Attack :: omg, grain elevator map on RO2 is freaking awesome

When Kittens Attack : Best RO map ever

When Kittens Attack : If you play as Germans you have to fight on the outskirts of this big grain elevator building, then once you get there you have to fight floor by floor

When Kittens Attack : and there are other buildings that have these little rails you can climb to get across to the main building

When Kittens Attack : so epic

Server browser issue has been fixed. Maybe I'll go record that Grain Elevator gameplay.

 

Don't you love when game developers actually update the beta client, instead of saving all the fixes for final release build :D

You really aren't going to let that go are you. Find something worth complaining about :( This doesn't in any way effect gameplay.

 

TWI's budget to create games is less than what Activision and EA spend to market MW3 and BF3 separately. Yet they offer more customizations and features than either would ever do.

 

I think I'll start trolling game threads complaining about random stupid stuff too.

 

Nope :P It's not that hard to slow it down a bit? It seems like it would throw you off balance or make you dizzy... so like this has a demo or something?
