unknownuser200 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) picture above shows that im at 4ghz soo far! at 1.4 v core ... room temp is about 2*C higher then normal.. soo figure that in... but so far soo good! Opinions from the guru's out there? edit i noticed it hards to read E0 stepping fsb 1900 8.5 x 475 max temps 66 63 63 62 after 12 mins of prime 95..... idle temps now that i lowered the room temp back to standard 22*C are 37 37 36 36 go prolimatech! Skugpezz Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 FAIL.... Why you are you stressing only 2 cores? Max temp cant be said with just 12mins of stressing. Nice overclock though
unknownuser200 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) im not just stressing 2 cores the tabs got barried under each other.. if you notice the load on real temp is nearly 100% not 50% ... ran cinebench... got 45 seconds... i think my actual ram is my key limiting factor here... as anything beyond this isnt stable unless i up the ram speed beyond 1450mhz... and when i do that.. the ram fails and refuses to boot Edited January 11, 2010 by unknownuser200
MJCRO Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 NICEE! Keep going man, don't stop. hit the big 4.2 like me!
unknownuser200 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 wow my voltage is threw the roof compared to yours.... seems more i overclock the cpu... my vantage mar scores for the cpu go way up my gpu scores are dropping? why is this
MJCRO Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Are you just increasing the Vcore alone? You should def. try putting the MCH/ICH both to 1.34V and the ICH Core to 1.75 and CPU PLL to 1.75, that's what I'm running at as a 24/7 overclock. overclocking101 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 ICH is southbridge if you up that voltage to much it can kill hard drives and other things ran off the sb or at least cause corruption etc. its stock is 1.5v and much over that isnt really neaded but nb absolutely my X48 needs about 1.59v for higher clocks
unknownuser200 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) Ok It kept giving redflags when i touched the cpu pll so i left that on auto... lowest i could get my Vcore was 1.375.... bumped my NB up to 1.45v and sb stayed the same... upping the NB voltage scares me being i didnt happen to check what the stock was... sooo idk if thats really low... or quite high... but i do know its stable at lower temps and a lower v core now 62 60 59 59 *C after 12 mins of prime 95 idle is 38 38 37 37... im now curious... to see if raising my nb voltage will result in my gpu scores going back up... seems more i overclocked prior resulted in a raised cpu score but lower gpu score.. soo ill let you guys know... anyone has anymore opinions or can tell me if my NB Voltages is safe or not id really appericate it Edit: im gonna run a few more tests... then im done for tonight.... ill procedd to overclock more after i get another fan for pushpull and change the ram.... If it is I have been doing it wrong for a long time, I thought it was the northbridge...
unknownuser200 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 road runner... is my northbridge temp about right? or to high?
