DanTheGamer11 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Yeah that's why I don't really see it as a pro. AMD has better offers in that price range when one wants an IGP. But that's for the 661. The lower end Core i3s look awesome for their price. AMD is preparing to soon launch a new IGP also, so Intel won't stay at the top for long concerning IGP performance. When? The Smith Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 When? After the 555 and the other HD 5xxx series cards. These will be later this month.
N.E.A Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 i have a question .., that new cpu has 4 threads with 2 physical cores ..and core i5 750 has 4 cores with 4 threads ..will the four hyper threads in 661 do the same ( exactly the same ) as the 4 threads in 750 ....? my mind tells me that it will do almost the same ... i know this question looks silly but it is killing my mind . My old Pentium 4 w/HT was still no Pentium D

Larzeee Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Question, so if someone buys this i5 661 and put it on a P55 chipset will they be able to use it's IGP? So if an i5 750 is placed on an H55, the mobo's on-board VGA/DVI wont work 'coz there's no GPU for it? Or are they not compatible at all even if they're of the same socket? Thanks. Thanks. in order to use the integrated GPU , you have to have h55 or h57 board ..., 750 can run on those two chipsets but with a discrete GPU , and the VGA/DVI ports wont work in that case ...core i5 661 + p55 + video card , 661+h55/h57(+/-) video card , core i5 750 +p55/h55/h57+ video card all of these setups will work.. Larzeee Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 So these will definitely confuse the average consumer seeking an IGP setup.
N.E.A Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 So these will definitely confuse the average consumer seeking an IGP setup. it will confuse some , but it is easy to understand ....this just got in my mind , if this confuses the consumer , he can go with AMD .. but seriously AMD is very very good , in fact it is awesome , 785/790GX + phenom ii is very powerful ...
