almost in the clear!?

underclocked

Recommended Posts

ok i got my settings for these lil bundles of lies @ 5-5-5-15,2t @2.0volts. the memory runs alot better and games are smoother but on the boot-up screen the crap still says 800MHz. wth is with this brand??? i went on kingstons sight and it recommends it run @ 2.2-2.3. the problem is that its already in the red zone a full 1.25volts. shall i change it to 2.3 and see what happens???? it should be ok cause of dual bios right? any suggestions from people with extensive overclocking knowledge would be deeply appeciated! thanks all!

I think what he means is ddr is data doubler rate ,twice the posted frequency.

800mhz x 2 = 1600mhz :thumbs-up:

lol so what your saying is i overclocked my memory to 2132MHz... ekkkkkkkkkkkkk lol hahaha ima have to see if your right and then maybe lower the settings... i was wondering why everything was loading so damn fast! which isnt a problem until the super high settings burn out my ram =)

I dont know what your mem clock speed is . I was commenting on This.

Quote: Ballist1x , If your question is why it says 800Mhz, that's probably because 800x2=1600Mhz. Timings won't change the mhz of the ram. It's a while different thing. Get CPU-Z and check out what it says. It will probably clear things out for u.

Overclocking you memory won't get you many speed increases.

ok well dont know if it matters but "stock" settings for my memory was 6-6-6-18,t3 @ 1.8volts and now its 5-5-5-15,t2 @ 2.0 soon to be 2.3volts. my mobo is capable of ddr 1600. but dont know how to do it unless with those settings i already acheived it. i overclocked the voltage into the red zone quiet a bit. being that i have dual bios my computer wont let me roast parts i overclock so ima keep uping stuff till it stops working then back it down... anyone know what a good voltage number would be to stop at. 2.3???? thats what crapston...i mean kingston recomends

You've got an AMD setup? Don't pass 2.0. 2.1V can cause memory controller damage, and 2.3 is just insane.

I'd say set it to 1.9V and pop it to 800 mhz (4:1 ratio). Then tweak the timings to whatever is stable. This will give you 1600 mhz.

so stay @ 2.0? what would be my next step then? + my mobo is only rated to get 1200MHz... like i said im already redzoned as far as voltage so i just need timings plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz =)
