5870 price range

what is bothering me is the four gpus were wiped by 2 gpus

That shouldn't bother you at all if you've read anything about Tri/Quad SLI and Tri/Quadfire.

 

but how can 2 gtx 295 be beaten by 2 5870

Because quad SLI sucks (much like Quadfire).

 

The benchmarks above are for TWO GTX 295s versus TWO 5870s.

 

A single GTX 295 is never referred to as SLI in benchmarks. GTX 295 SLI == two cards, not two GPUs.

i did not know that quad sli sucks , i know cf sucks and so quad fire(cf) sucks

Why? For the same reason that Quadfire sucks...it doesn't scale well.

 

Crossfire doesn't suck, the recent benchmarks of the 5870, 4870X2, and 5870 Crossfire prove that.

i like the 5870 in cf but not 4870/4890 and as i said before i hate dual gpu cards ...

They all scale almost identically...so I don't know why you don't like all of the above.

. the link i provided was for quad sli (a pair of 295gtx's, meaning more then physical card) vs two 5870's in crossfire. hope that clears things up. i wish i could find the oringal url. but i cannot at the moment i will look after work.

Yeah...except that's the complete opposite of reality. Two cards consume more energy and by proxy produce more heat.

Where do you get all this stuff from?? One second your screaming about the GT300's, then SLi then the 5890.... why?

 

What games do you play that you cant play now? It seems like your getting over excited for no reason...
