Lapping a cm v10

I lapped my new CM V10 cpu hs. I have not built my system yet, but a thought occurred me

that maybe I should not have done it. Did I ruin my new HS ?

Because its an active cooler not a passive one. It uses tec ( thermal electric cooling ) technology

and I can now see cooper in the base of the heat sink.

It's fine.

 

Your bottom plate is the copper heatsink plate, next up is the tec plate, then another copper plate.

I felt it was fine ,its just that when the nickle plate started wareing away I

got conserned.

You're fine as long as the COPPER doesn't start wearing away and you start seeing exposed white ceramic

As long as you lap your processor (after you test it) there should be no problems. The TEC now has less surface area to cool off. :thumbs-up:

Hence it should react to the thermal load quicker!
