Rokkaholik Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I wonder which chapter in the owners manual covers this? I'm guessing the insurance rates may go up as well
Andrewr05 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 EPIC Either the chassis on that is lightened for this experiment or that is an incredibly powerful arm!
hardnrg Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I like how they have the Spice Girls on the show, asking them if they think he'll do it
crash Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 It doesnt need to be lightened. That ram is a 5" ram and the hydraulic pressure on that unit would be between 2000-2500 pis. You do the math..
Andrewr05 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I've just never seen one that could lift itself.
OwinC Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 (edited) On the Liebherr cranes the pressure can exceed 5000 psi. How would I know that? I used to operate a 934, 944, and the 954 grapple cranes when I worked for Nucor Steel. The 954 can lift 45,000lb load near the base of the crane. This is what I used to operate.
