overclocking 4850

Recommended Posts

Hey, was wondering what some of you would suggest for an overclock on my 4850, the auto tune brought to 690/1078 which doesn't seem to be stable. Any suggestions?

everything clocks differently so just keep playing with the clocks until the card is stable in all of the games you play. I'd start with the memory stock and then up the core clock until hitting unstability and then pull back a little. Then start on the memory.

this seems to work pretty good...

totally stable for me...others use this setting too...!!....keeping in mind we're on x2's...could possibly be a little hot for a single....maybe not though just depends on your system...

Power supply maybe? you might be taxing that 450w supply.

Actually you are correct about that, that's why I have a second power supply powering it while my 450w powers everything else.

I did finally find a stable clock after a friend of mine suggested I look at the reviews on my card at newegg and I found it stable at 700/1150, still strikes me odd that its unstable at stock though, but oh well I got it fixed and that is what counts, thanks for the suggestions though.
