Krieg1337 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Well I have decided I will probably get the OCZ Vendetta 2 http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/ind...oducts_id=23533 Now, I have an Asus P5Q Pro, and I was wondering if it would fit without blocking the memory slots(as it said in this review http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/ocz_vendetta_2/5.htm that it might do so) Thanks
Kuronin Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 The Coolermaster Hyper 212 is a respectable heatsink for a little cheaper. If you want even cheaper than that the Coolermaster TX2 is also great.

Guest ajmatson Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Well I have decided I will probably get the OCZ Vendetta 2 http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/ind...oducts_id=23533 Now, I have an Asus P5Q Pro, and I was wondering if it would fit without blocking the memory slots(as it said in this review http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/ocz_vendetta_2/5.htm that it might do so) Thanks It depends on the height of the memory used and how you position the cooler. I positioned it with the fan to the facing the front of the case (Pulling air from behind the CD Drive). With low profile RAM you can stick them in the first slot but High profile ones like Dominator's you need to place them in slots 2 and 4. Hope that helps. I have a TRUE with really thick scythe fans and I have no issue running high profile ram (ocz reapers to be precise). I mean the ram is like a mm or two away from the fan but I'm not worried. I still get really good temps (and probably are helping to cool the ram at the same time)
frankee234 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 The Coolermaster Hyper Z600 is like $27 without add-on fans (passive). But if your concern is about case space, don't bother getting it. I myself added 1 fan to improve cooling but with it on, I have to dismantle the whole thing (motherboard and all) just to remove memory modules. But so I thought, how often will I remove one? OCC gave it a gold and it was on sale in a local shop so I gave it a go.
