rud3bwoy Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Don't bother with kits, just build your own,i bought a kit and it was crappy, when i got my custom kit temps dropped over 20 c!
xly15 Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Yeah the kits really do suck. The only one I've ever seen do any good are the ones that are like $400 and over. I say at that point just build your own. You'll be much happier.
Andrewr05 Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 (edited) The only "kits" that are recommended (at least that I recall) are the ones from Petra's Tech Shop. They aren't crappy all in one setups, they offer pre-picked kits which would essentially be just as good a what you would pick out if you bought it all separate. That Swiftech setup is there too, it probably isn't that bad compared to other AIO kits but you would still probably be better off getting a custom it... Really though, unless you plan on spending about $300US I wouldn't bother with water... Edited December 3, 2008 by Andrewr05
ben333 Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 (edited) Some kits are great, swiftech makes good stuff so I think a swiftech kit is a good idea but you might want to go with a 2x 120 radiator. (Which they do have in one kit configuration) Just avoid Koolance and ThermalTake when it comes to water cooling and try to get parts from good companies like Swiftech, DTek, etc. A decent CPU loop can be had for under $200 USD so don't worry. The only "kits" tat are recommended (at least that I recall) are th ones from Petra's Tech Shop. http://petrastechshop.com/swh2cocpulic.html Just to verrify, not a bad option. (the kit the OP linked to) Edited December 3, 2008 by ben333

gotdamojo06 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 The block looks good I have that pump with out the res on it I would get a bigger rad, just to be safe and in case you want to upgrade your loop in the future Check some of the prices for Tygon tubing. As far as sizes go, I use 1/2" ID tubing
