HITandRUN Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 No I suggest in the friday to saturday night. You will get the coldest temps at around 3-4am. That's what I've done. I began at 10pm and finished at 4am. For me its time tonight! 20L of LN2 waiting to be used!

Puck Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Holy mother of god 1.8v is a lot for a 45nm. Careful. Kept my cpu clocks at their normal 24/7 settings and started playing with the GPU clocks to see what the card likes. Prelim GPU OC scores below, just to have something in in case it doesn't go too well when I start pushing it . Should rise quite a bit with more cpu clocks...gpu oc'ing does not do much when already cpu limited. The Smith Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Holy mother of god 1.8v is a lot for a 45nm. Careful. Ya I damaged it too... If you noticed I ran Geekbench @ 4.4GHz instead of 4.5GHz. I would not do 4.5GHz on 1.8V anymore... I tried with 1.85V without success, so I went back to 1.8V... I'm keeping 2V+ for dry ice
ARandomOWL Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Ur making me feel like I'm undervolting my CPU. I only used 1.6V so far coz the next step up in BIOS is 1.8V. I'm scared. . Should I go for it?

I would but I am crazy! lol....My feeling is if you can't afford to replace it then don't risk breaking it.
ARandomOWL Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 I would but I am crazy! lol....My feeling is if you can't afford to replace it then don't risk breaking it. If it dies then it gives me a good excuse to get an E8600 . But first I'll make sure I've got OCed scores b4 trying 1.8V.
