Set it at a lower multiplier and out the max "FSB" it can reach so this way you can figure out if that's limiting you.

Also make sure you use RAM dividers, maybe it just can't keep up with the CPU.

You'll have to increase Vcore at some point too... and maybe the CPU just won't clock any higher. I know my 4200+ (AM2 though) would top out around 2.8GHz

Finally, please, take a minute to proof read your posts, your spelling is awful.

2.8 is a pretty good clock speed for an A64. My 3800X2 got to 2870MHz prime stable. I would drop the multi and go up on the FSB. I could run in the neighbor hood of 285 with the Gskill HZ 4000 set of memory i had 3-4-3-8

It's possible you hit a wall, 2.8GHz is still pretty good for those processors!

Your chip is probably maxed out.

My 939 Opteron did not like more then 2.9ghz stable, and could only bench at 3ghz but was not truely stable.

If you knew how many A64s i bought trying to get a 3G stable one would make you sick.

What stepping and date code is the chip...?

There were some LC*** series that didnt overclock for crap and ran hotter than hot...

I have one and it wont clock 200mhz over stock stable without giving it 1.55v which is the max I would give the chip anyways...
