ebdoradz Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 i have put the TCCD mem i bought from Angry in my nf2 board system spec are : DFI Lan Party nf2 Ultra-B AMD Athlon XP-m 2500+ (1.45V version) 2*512mb of Centen Advanced DDR400 TCCD (blue heat spreader) Fortron 450W dual 18A rail BBATI 9800pro 2 80gb raid 0 thermalright SLK-900A + 70cfm fan @ max thermaltake armor full tower with 3*120mm + 1*92mm Zlaman heat sink on both NB and SB i have some prime instability issue and i would like to resolve them 240*10 set in bios mem volt = 2.8 cpu volt 1.725 (used 1.700 in my previos OC 12*200 and it was 8hrs prime stable) chipset volt = 1.6 (tried 1.7 but prime failed too) ram timing 2.5-3-3-3-11 1T alpha timing = (see include nf2 tweaker print screen) cpu temp idle 34. load 40 chipset temp idle 32 load 37 board temp idle 26 load 29 ambient temp 19C so far that setup is memtest stable for 10hrs but it crashed prime @ blend in less then 1 hrs and crash prime @ large FFT in less then 40min any clue?? or suggestion?? ebdoradz Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 UPDATED: i have try a Small FFT prime run @ 1.8V 240*10 the test ran fine for a 5 hours until i went to sleep and when i wooke up this morning the computer was on a BSOD should i go higher on the vcore or i will need to tweak the ram a bit?? kitfit1 Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Are those Alpha's the Auto settings ?, or have you set them yourself. Vdimm is too high for 240fsb with TCCD, set them at 2.6vdimm. Believe it or not ebdoradz, too much vdimm with TCCD produces the same result as not enough vdimm does with other IC's.
ebdoradz Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 thnx kitfit for that reply, its actualy the 1st one on 3 diff forums :S the alpha timing are set on Auto. should I set them manualy? im not quite familiar with those alpha timing ..... i will drop Vdimm to 2.6 and see what it does and for Vcore. is 1.825 V for the Cpu too high for that OC??? right now its falling prime on both blend and large FFT with 1.825V and 1.7 on chipset i will start memtest tonight be4 going bed to see if the ram will do 240fsb on 2.6Vdimm
ebdoradz Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 ok kitfit1, i have chekc my rails on the PSU with Digital multi meter and all voltage where taken under prime and for 5min those are the min-max i have record 12V = 12.06-12.12 5V = 5.06 - 5.08 3.3V = 3.31 -3.32 so PSU is now out of the equation i've follow your tips and lower the vdimm to 2.6V and lower my cpu to 1.7V. alpha on auto ... and start memtesting. the mem did a eror in test #6 and then the computer froze. i've put a bit more volt on the cpu. and now testing. since i no one have test the nf2 with those centon TCCD stick, should i start by using someone tccd setting for my alphas like skinnie or clay's setting they posted in the OCDB??? ebdoradz Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 i tried 2.6 and memtest put me a error in 30 min so i decide to put 2.7vdimm, and i change the T(RC) from 13 to 12. memtest put a error in about 18min and then the computer sudently stopped. i have try to boot it but no luck all the fan turn's on but no display ... tried a 1 min clear cmos but no luck i will let it clear for a couple hours hope i havent corrupted the bios .... kitfit1 Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Using someone else's OCDB settings is probably the way to go. I must admit, i can,t remember the alpha's that i used. But if you look in my thread "can i do better", I'm pretty shure they are posted there somewhere.
ebdoradz Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 if i can get my board to boot i will try those in your thread until that i must try the 24hrs clear cmos, or order a new bios chip from Tmod
kitfit1 Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I would have thought you would have a spare bios chip by now ebdoradz, you know how easy it is to corrupt the NF2's bios Defo don't lower T(RC) with TCCD. I think i may well have left all my Alpha's on auto as well, so leave them there until you get a stable clock.
ebdoradz Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 i,ve lower the T(rc) to 12 because i saw it in a OCDB with TCCD i,ve learn by my mistake could a 24hrs clear cmos work in this case? and BTW the ram put error on my with 2.6V (2.5-3-3-3-11 1t alpha,s on auto) has you told me so when my board gonna be alive i will try 2.7V and start from there should i got for 1.6 (stock) or 1.7V on chipset? ebdoradz Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 UPDATED hot flashed my nf2 bios with my nf4 mobo flash was succesful but the classy lady refuse to boot it show me LED 1 and 2 then LED 3 then LED 4 and nadait stop there i have check in the manual and it say's "Early program chipset register before POST" what i do??? should i order a new chip from Tmod and see what it does or should i sit in a corner and cry??? t_ski Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Try these: Clear CMOS (as directed) overnight Remove CPU and reseat Try 100MHz jumper Try cheap PC2100 ram That's all I can think of to start with. Read up some more on this: http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=314891 Sometimes it could be several things all-together. I had my Infinity eat the BIOS chip, then I got a new one and still had to go in with the PC2100 to get it to boot after I replaced the chip.
