Do DFI give you satat 2 cables

i think i read somewhere that SATA II cables employ a better technique of staying connected, like a little clip or something that hooks on better (dont quote me), but there would be no speed increase by using a SATA II cable over a SATA I cable.

For Clarity:

There is no such thing as a SATA II cable.

All current SATA cables are fully compliant with the current SATA and SATA 3GBps specifications.

The current SATA connector will continue to be used on Internal drives as described by the spec.

The new Click-Connect interface is backward compatible with the existing SATA interface as shown on page 34...

This is a physical change to the connector only and will not affect drive/interface performance.

The eSATA spec connector is completely new and different from the current SATA spec. It also requires a new interface to provide additional functions as provided in the spec.

External SATA drives will use the new eSATA spec which provides a staggerd electrical interface to actually allow hot-plug operation.

There may be a slight reduction in signal crossover from having 4 twisted pairs instead of 2, mathmatically.

Regardless, specific designation as a SATA II cable is pushing it, at best.

See ExRoadie's post above.
