Angry_Games Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 from my reply in the Modifications section about this...I'll post it here cuz some of you will ask these exact questions! lol ever since i first put one on my original SLI-DR, I have bought at least 10 of them (and 3 more on the way from SVC.com now that they are carrying them), and have used them on every board I listed in teh second post they drop my chipset temps on highly overclocked NF4's from about 50c during dual prime load to about 39C regular idle or gaming load temps range from about 33C to 45C since the fan part plugs right into the header that the original chipset fan did, you can use it to control the fan speed in the bios. These things will power up to full speed if it gets warm enough, but even at full speed they are not nearly as loud and annoying as the original NF4 chipset and yes, EVERY VIDEO CARD THAT IS PCI-E WILL FIT OVER THIS CHIPSET COOLER if your card will not fit with this chipset cooler on, you have done something terribly wrong to either the chipset/sink or your video card! lol
Dan42684 Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 I'm assuming that the NF4 Ultra isnt capatable with this heatsink, am I right or wrong?
blaznee Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Anyone know where I can get that in Europe? I can only find VC-RD in UK, and VC-RF in France...

Daddyjaxx Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 That would be the NF4 original.
comgrif Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 yup i purchased one for my SLI-DR and i love it. the temps are much better, the fan itself is quieter plus the 2 LEDS add a little bling if your into that sort of thing.
bolshevik Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Excellent. I kinda scratched up my chipset cooler getting that gunk off while doing the Ultra-D->SLI mod so I'm definitely gonna get one of these. Plus, my board's reverted back to just an Ultra-D so getting this will just give me more incentive to mod it again and get it right this time. Thanks for the heads up, AG. XtremeMooCow Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I have a VC-RF, that should still fit on the expert board, right?
comgrif Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 i dunno about the VC-RF, but here are some pics of my installed VC-RE. *note: thats a 7800GT mounted in the top Pci-E slot*.
Scott P Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I bought the vc-re when I bought all my components. Once I verified that the board was fine, I replaced the stock cooler with the vc-re. I wanted to do it right from the get-go.
