the whole shootout is quite good but those 2 result pages show how badly the typhoon stomps the zalman.

Interesting. My 146 is at 10x300 with 1.46vts, and PC Probe II says it's idling at 29*, with a 32M superPI load temp of 38*. This is with the fan at the lowest RPM, with Coolermaster fans (3-120mm, 2-80mm), that are quiet, low volume fans. On my [email protected] with 1.55vts it (smart guardian) gives me 30* idle/ 40* load (with 32m superPI). This one is a noisy beast with all kinds of fans. I've also had it on my 3000+@9x300 with 1.55vts and I get 30*/38* (PC Probe II). I'm currently using a Scythe Ninja with a cheap Alienware 120mm, and I get 34*/42*.

Anyway, maybe I just got lucky with my chips, but I like my numbers. I have a BTT that I was using on my DFI, but my temps on the FX-55 were scary. It was great on my Asus board, but I submitted my issue (with the DFI) to the forums a ways back - and nobody could figure out what the problem was. I still have it on the bench, actually on an Abit Fatality an8-sli, that I'll monkey with later. For now - I'll take my Zalmans - any day. We are just talking a few degrees here - all of these coolers definitely get the job done.
