Sharp Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 This is quite a bit over $125 but will OC without using a lot of voltage. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820146890 Also the Crucial BallisitX will OC nicely but a lot of the 2x1GB kits have been failing and my 2x512MB went faulty twice, 3rd set seems to be ok. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820148007
BlueFlame Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Just a quick question...what can you tell me about "Memory Power" @192525 1GBPC3200 ram? And where EXACTLY is the Model No. on my MB? (do I need the Hubble telescope to read it?) oh, and what would be the best memory configuration (stock setup) to max out my board? I really appreciate your forum, and have gained a lot of knowledge from it, but I continue to have problems...Thanks for your help...and PLEASE keep up the great work, and posts... Sharp Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Indio68, these may have infineon CE-6 chips, that same ones on the OCZ Platinum EB and Mushkin REDLINE 2x1GB. CE-6 can do 250Mhz @3-3-2-8. BlueFlame I have never heard of your memory modules before. If you could create a thread and list the memory timings I can try to help. caebron Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Here's an interesting article on the bandwidth vs. MHz debate: http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticl...313&articID=

Ampere3 Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I was thinking about getting the OCZ EL Platinum PC3200 2x 1GB sticks @ 2-3-2-5: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227210 But then I saw these OCZ Gold GX PC4000 2x 1GB sticks @ 3-4-3-8: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227066 Now, I wasn't planning on OCing at the moment, but since the PC4000 ones are only about $10 more than the PC3200 ones, should I go for the PC4000? My main concern is being able to run the PC4000 sticks at PC3200 speeds with 2-3-2-5 timings since I don't want to overclock right away. I just want something that will be future proof. Is it possible to run those PC4000 sticks like that? Or will they only be able to do PC3200 @ 2-3-3-8 like the regular gold PC3200's? It's seems to be general consensus that running the HTT 1:1 does not yield much performance improvement over running on a divider. The Athlon XP would show a performance increase of up to %15, the performance increase on the AMD64 is dramatically lower than that (not even 1FPS in games). Bandwidth however is a different story. I would go with PC3200 with low latencies, overclock to the point where I am able to keep those latencies and then use a divider. Sharp Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 The OCZ 3-4-3-8 sticks will run at 2.5-3-3-X @200Mhz. If you want something with 2-3-2-5 timings @200Mhz and can OC later on, have a look at the G.skill ZX 2x1GB kit. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231032
