whats the Amp on this fan? http://www.jab-tech.com/product.php?productid=2608 i got that because it had a low wattage draw, Verran also said that fan should be fine on a mobo.
Found the spec for it, 0.11A is right.
-
RPMs aren't the point here, it has to do with power draw, bigger fans have larger motors in them, and thus they draw more power. Any fan drawing more than 0.25A shouldn't be plugged into the headers.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. At that price range, you have plenty of better options.

I think you're looking for something called Creative ALchemy, it's supposed to fix the issues with the X-Fi in Vista. Grab it from their website.

dont think the setup with the G51 and xtrememusic will comply.. im not totally experience with the audio department but the cord needs 4 ports (front, rear, sub, mic)
If he doesn't want to plug a microphone into the control pod, he can just leave that bit disconnected, then.
I say go for it, if you already know you're unhappy with onboard audio. An X-Fi XtremeGamer is a worthwhile upgrade.

You can overclock VERY far with just a good air cooling set up these days, in most cases you can reach the limit of your chip. Watercooling is more of a luxury now.

^My mistake, I misread.

Sounds like an issue with the shielding of your speakers. When they're new, they filter out pops and crackles pretty well, but they tend to "wear out" over time. Same thing happened to me with a pair of Logitech Z-2200s.
You'll be looking at buying some new speakers..

I always use CTRL + C and make sure to kill any leftover processes. Sometimes MPI gets stuck.
The improper shutdown message is a bug they haven't fixed yet, it can be ignored.

Since we haven't got a recent thread on these, I thought it would be a good idea.
Just got my A+ IT Technician today.

You'll need to keep check on NB temps once you increase the voltage. Possibly look into improved cooling for it, as well.
-
That's pretty ignorant to think you can go from stock to 1.3ghz OC in thirty seconds. Overclocking is an art form, you have to start out slowly and work your way to maximum potential of the hardware.

I would love to get in on this action, but I just spent a shed-load of cash on a new X-Fi Prelude, Yamaha receiver and 5.1 speakers. My gadget budget is nearly tapped out. I'm quite pleased with my X2, for now.

Unless your X360 is overheating, there is really no benefit to increasing the cooling capacity.

What version is your WRT54G? Those seem to get worse with each new version, it seems. I had a WRT54G v6 for a while, even with DD-WRT it seemed to have a lot of issues. Eventually, it got replaced with a Netgear.
I recommend you try some line quality tests, as well. The one at DSLReports.com works fine. That will tell you whether it's the ISP, or your own equipment.

Spread was used as a general term for application.. lay off the caffeine pills.
-
This is probably just a re-package of AC MX-2, which is absolutely wonderful stuff. Works as well as AS5, but it isn't a pain in the arse to spread or clean up.
-
Have you tried putting them in the same coloured slots? As I remember, those boards had strange slot configurations, the two closest to the CPU were for DC. Have you got another motherboard to test the RAM in?
-
Watercooling is really overkill for the X360, you won't see any benefits from it, at all. Any difference in temperature is negated by the fact you can't overclock it. Keep it out of cabinets if you plan to play for a while. If you have an A/V cabinet it's in, consider drilling a hole at the back and installing a fan.

I'd like to know how this compares to the old CoolIT and some of the best air-cooling. The old CoolIT units were a bit rubbish, really. Maybe this one is a bit more promising, actually worth buying.

It was quite a good race. But I wonder what the outcome would've been with the Veyron's spoiler lowered.
I rather liked the Ferrari 599 review, as well.

It's still a bit of a risk to run SMP as a service, sometimes it doesn't start up properly or worse, you lose a WU. I think it's better left to manual control.

While cutting off some heatpipe to make it fit is certainly a bad idea in most regards, it's not quite as bad you're all making it to be. I've been in a similar situation actually, where I had to cut a few fins from an SB cooler for an old s939 motherboard, because the AGP lock was in the way. Not a big deal, really.
Perhaps this person doesn't understand how a heatpipe works like us chaps on OCC do.

I bought the Ultima-90 a few months ago. Two things you need to know about it, if your board has the ram sockets in front of the CPU socket, it will face towards the video card. And it only supports 25mm thick fans.
The cooler does face downwards with my board, so I think 2c is lost there, when I compare my temps to others with similar set ups. You might consider a non-tower cooler if your board has the RAM sockets in front of the CPU.
