Can i rma my Gigabyte 1080 Xtreme ? Minidump on watchdog folder.

Recommended Posts

Hello. So today i checked event viewer and i saw entry: LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys and of course minidump file in Windows/Watchdog...
Screen:

image.jpg

That was during DOOM in 02.10.2016 , i realize today about this when i found it.

Game was not crashed, but event viewer report LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys and create minidump in Windows/Watchdog folder.

Question. What part of pc is unstable now? Propably GPU even if it is on stock?

I dont oc my pc,all is stock.

6700K no OC ( good temps 60C )
16GB DDR4
Asus Z170-P
Corsair 750 RM
Gigabyte 1080 Xtreme ( NO OC ,stock clocks )

Currently i am on Windows 10 Anniversary and 368.69 drivers.

Memtest86 pass fine no errors. So if gpu crashed i can rma card now?

So if its my gpu crashed then ( i found minidump in Watchdog folder ) its not unstable on stock clocks and i can rma card, because of that single event?

Beside that all of my games are stable, i can play GTA V no crashes, Heaven, 3dmark 11,13 stable.

If the video card driver crashed you would get that error, if you looked at all the errors windows reported about your pc you would throw it out to the garbage, ignore it and game on !

You sir are way to paranoid about your pc hardware, just use it and enjoy it !

Honestly these days you can RMA things are any reason. But i don't think a single event could point to a fault video card. Run some benchmarks and see if it crashes under some real heavy load. Nvidia drivers can crash sometimes for the most random reasons, not to mention games will crash from a patch, pre-patched, post-patched, etc. So I wouldn't put much thought into it unless everything is crashing constantly.

Even if just one games crashes constantly, It most likely the game or the drivers and not the card.

It happened once. Its not repeatable i dont know why.

Game didn't crash, everything works as normal, but event viewer report LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys and of course minidump file in Windows/Watchdog..

Here is log:

I can ignore event viewer information entries sure. But i am worried because it make minidump in Watchdog folder, which mean TDR right?

That was 2 October 2016 , i was playing Doom. Game not crashed, was stable fps and no signs of any crash. But somehow event viewer raport LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys and make minidump. This mean hardware fault?
