CapnKirk Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Ok I know this may sound dumb, but I've been up for 29 hrs. Does this plug put out power or does it want power from the PSU? I'm guessing I plug in a 4 pin molex from the PSU into it. Thanks. http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/Power_connector.jpg
red930 Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Yes, you connect a 4pin molex (HARDDRIVE or OPTICAL DRIVE) power connector to it for better motherboard stability. Good job, you've done it right....29hrs, you going to get a heart attack man, get some sleep, you serious?
CapnKirk Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Ahh, OK thanks man. Nah, I have insomnia and take Ritalin and a couple of other antidepressants for my chronic depression. So when I'm feeling OK, I keep going until I can't keep my eyes open anymore. It's not healthy, but it beats laying in bed severely depressed. My record is 4 days awake, but I usually stay up at least 24 hours if I'm feeling OK and have something I'm interested in doing. Then I usually sleep 20 or more hours, depends... It's messed up, but maybe this next Doctor I'm seeing next month might have an idea the other 40 didn't. Ritalin sux to take, but it's the only thing that gets me out of bed. Oh geeze, running a tangent here.. Anyway thanks! :shake:

cronocrash Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 ADD is like a blessing and a curse sometimes. It's great for the hyperfocus if you can get into that mode, but it's terrible for the sleep schedule and homework. I've asked and asked and asked around my town but we dont have any doctors nearby that can even handle adult ADD. My best is 37 hours without sleep. I also have terrible insomnia, but I get so tired that I can move so I lie down or meditate for a few hours just to let my body relax. Sometimes I can space myself out to a point where my body starts to feel like it's sleeping but I'm still awake. That's basically how I sleep every night. I feel your pain brotha. They put me on some really heavy pain meds cos I had surgery awhile ago, and they put me on Lunesta. Even when I take both perscriptions I STILL CAN'T SLEEP. Most people wouldn't be able to move if they took what I took.
CapnKirk Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Heh, I ate some dinner after that last post up there then went into the bedroom to sort out my meds for the rest of the night and started to doze off. My wife said to get up and shut down my computer stuff, feed the cat and stuff like that and go to sleep. So I took 40mgs of Ritalin to wake up and do that stuff and fell asleep again. Half an hour later my wife comes in the bedroom and said she took care of everything so go to sleep. I'm thinking that Ritalin should be kicking in any minute now..... That was Friday night around 9:30pm and I just woke up about 3 hours ago. This new Doctor better have some new ideas. Anyway, will probably boot this rig for the first time as soon as I wire it up and check it over.
