  1. There are 2 bios versions for this board, both have that bug and the official bios has a dram strenght bug amoung other problems. The beta bios has mem setting bugs and you can't use the 10x multi with certain mem dividers. Both versions suc, are broken and not even complete.
  2. where did you get that bios version? you have a LanParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G AM2 590 SLI MCP mobo?
  3. What? I asked him "Any chance you could mod a bios for the LANPARTY UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G?"
  4. Screw them, ask here, we'll get a better one. http://www.biosmedic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=109
  5. Complain here. http://csd.dficlub.org/forum/showthread.ph...14773#post14773 Come on guys, you want support, ask for it, not one post over there yet. At this rate Tmod will have a new version and probably do a better job.
  6. I'll test it/them, but don't have a spare chip.
  7. You got a score of 10866 3DMarks in 06 with a $1000 cpu and faster ram with a pair of 8800GTX's in SLi mode. Did I get that right? I got 10511 with a $275 cpu, slower ram and just one 8800GTX. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=1115609 I don't get it.
  8. Just curious, because I'm never satisfied with my gear. Is there any game that needs a pair of 8800 GTX's in SLi? Also, what brand is the GTX?
  9. Heh, yeah but after running 05, 06 is gunna make him cry. My old 3800x2 in 05 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=2130886 Current Rig in sig in 06, didn't try 05, why bother.. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=1115609
  10. These are nice drivers, they have all the tweaks and best of all you can switch to the classic control panel. The tweakerizer has a file for either quality or performance. Been playing BF2 maxed out, looks great, runs great. Dunno if it's the 8800GTX or the drivers, but I can now choose 8xAA in game. Also OC'ed the core from 600mhz to 633, no problem, gotta love BFG. Back to 600mhz, because it's just not needed.
  11. Same way BFG did I guess. http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/DSCF1332.JPG
  12. Try these 97.92's. http://www.tweaksrus.com/index.php?option=...id=812&Itemid=1 Be sure to uninstall the old drivers, boot to safe mode and run driver cleaner pro per instructions. Once installed, reboot and you may want this. I think it opens up the tweaks like coolbits. http://www.tweaksrus.com/index.php?option=...=811&Itemid=41/
  13. The topic is problems with 8800 cards. Try and save people some trouble and get your posts deleted. Wasn't like I posted BS, backed my posts with proof and links. Um, yeah, so what topic is this again?
  14. I'm saving money, getting what I want, I did try newegg, but they couldn't come through this time. What's your point other than busting my chops?
  15. Yeah I know, but they sent me a bad card and doa OCZ memory which I now have to be bothered to return. Plus egg charged $67 tax and tiger charges no tax. I always buy from egg, first time I'm buying from tiger, but lately newegg has been screwing up my orders, billing and lied to me about the shipping time, again! Spent 8 grand there, so they can kiss my arse for a while. Probably 20 bucs less because it was rma or dropped on the floor. Sick of them right now.
  16. Oh really.. Then explain this. The link may be from 2 or 3 months ago, which isn't that long. Second, The card I got last week from newegg has the resistor in that article because I checked it for crap and giggles, and it beeps loud when I power down, plus it runs like crap. They were going to send me a replacement overnight, no charge and all of a sudden the vendor in TN. stop shipping from his inventory of them. And now, when I click on my old invoice order on newegg I get this message. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the item you are looking for has been deactivated. Here are some similar products that you may wish to consider: This is what I ordered from them that has the bad resistor. Item(s) shipped from TN Tracking Number: 1 BFG Tech BFGR88768GTXE GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail Item #: N82E16814143075 Return Policy: Limited Non-Refundable 30-Day Return Policy $609.99 LINK here. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814143075 Still some on the shelves as you can see. Worked out better since I got the OC version which I didn't know was out.
  17. After having horrid performance from the 8800GTX from the eggpeople, and the card beeps real loud when I power down. I decided to google some info and found that my card which is going back rma has the bad resistor. It's all here, so please be careful. http://www.legitreviews.com/article/417/1/ I would suggest getting the OC version from tiger direct as their stock is purged of the bad cards and it's faster for a few bucs more.
  18. I rather one of the gurus here mod a bios or two like the old days...
  19. we need a new bios, we have 2, one is bugged and both need more options
  20. Heh, that score was at 2872MHz DDR2 800 mem and a pair of 7900GTX OC cards. And it was buggy at that speed... Also, that was with the old version of 3dmark 06 before the patch if that makes a difference. Thing is I got a score of 8964 on a skt 939 3800x2 and 2 7900 GT's. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=404258 To Taowulf, here's my last 05 score before the patch. 14344 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=2335269 And again not much more than the 939 rig which ran. 14216 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=2130886
  21. Thanks man, that means alot to me, because I really worked on this and it still needs a few minor fixes besides the bug tweaking. I just played BF2 online for about an hour with fraps going. Everything pretty much cranked up in the nvidia display settings and running the game at 1280x1024 with high settings. For some reason it looks better than the higher rez's as it's not as sharp. I'm a bit OC'ed at 2.5Ghz and pushing the Corsair 800 to 845 with pretty tight timings. Ran on a 64 player map with about 20 peeps and fraps reported 80 to 85 FPS. I think the yellow slots helped and going back to the official bios. Temps were fine all around and the new sound card may have helped with the crashing and freezing. Would like to see 2.8 Ghz out of this, but if games run maxed out at high FPS, why bother. Yeah I was expecting 10,000 3dmarks with very little tweaking, but I'm close enough. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=663277 Any more graphic intense games other than BF2 you can point me to? Thanks again for the kind words on the build man.
  22. Well it was this board or the Asus Crosshair which I put back in the box since ASSus are just FOS these days and support jack. Stevie Wonder could have designed a better layout! What a cheap POS and I have to buy a special bios chip to support the 4600x2 I have. Buy it? Asus is full of tards. Anyway, I wanted a mobo with full 16x PCIe slots and Asus was the only choice before DFI made the NF590 SLI, it's a good board, but it needs more support.
  23. The official bios is a bit buggy, why are there two 2.0 volt choices for the ram? Why no memory test option? When it boots it even says hit ESC to skip mem test. Need more ram dividers also, and the beta bios, is it ever going official? Drivers. How about some updated drivers, the chipset drivers are from last June, Audio driver to fix EAX problems. There's only a handful of choices for this board. Built many rigs, but this one has taken more hours to get up and running than all the rest put together. I'm still having problems with boot problems, freezing at the windows screen, random restarts, crashing in games. And I'm not seeing any real performance gains over my LP nF4 SLI-DR 4600x2 and 2 gig of PC4000 OCZ mem. The BFG 7900GTX cards don't seem to benifit from the 2 full 16x PCIe slots on the NF590. I'm about to go back to LP nF4 SLI-DR with a ton of bios versions to choose from and drivers. I really want to use the NF590 as my gaming rig, I put so much work into it and time. Just put in an SB Audigy 2 ZS and can now use EAX in BF2. Anyone going to mod a bios for this board? Some pics.. http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/DSCF0698.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/DSCF0678.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/DSCF0681.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/DSCF0673.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/New_Image3.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/New_Image4.JPG The BFG's are boring so I lit them up. http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/DSCF0801.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/DSCF0684.JPG I re-sleeved the PSU and changed all the white molex and other connectors. And sleeved every cable, made up some custom cables and just put so much into this build, but it's really . me off that it's not running right. Any help would be extremely appreciated. http://home.comcast.net/~toezer/DSCF0939.JPG
  24. This pic may help a bit, I used the t-bone bracket that came with the Big Typhoon and mounted it to the brackets from an AM2 heatsink from OCZ. http://home.comcast.net/~toezer/Big_T_.JPG The Tempest 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler which even with a tornado fan still ran only a bit below the stock one. You may just be able to order the bracket and screw set, anyway this is the sink. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.as...oler+%2D+Retail And the 2 brackets I used from this set. http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/pro...-202-001-05.jpg
