So GoDaddy is epic fail, and I've recently canceled all my products with them. Anybody have any suggestions for an alternative?
I don't need a bazillion features, just all the usual gubbins (php/sql/etc) and FTP access.

Site 5, slightly more expensive but premium service with unlimited disk space and bandwidth. Their customer service is great, very responsive and helpful. I think about $4.95 a month for 2 year, 5.95 for 1 year.

i use inmotion hosting for work but my last personal host was godaddy and I can say stay as far away from the waste of time good for nothing sorry pos namesecure

Well I have hosted one simple site I made for interacting with other players of my Guild of Mu Online RPG in 2007. It's still online

I hosted it in AwardSpace. You can have free or paid access. It have Mysql, PHP5, FTP, etc.
The only problem I found is I cannot access it from my work. There must be some firewall in the middle. But apart from that looks ok.
