d6bmg Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 To be honest I was able to check the speed difference between 4.85Ghz & 5Ghz on my system and there is like 1 or 2% of improvement. Not worth destroying my chip. This! 5 is just a mark. Its nice to see you understood this part.
Erosannin Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 My chip is running cold at this actual speed so I might just change my fans on the H100 for 4 of those bad boys : http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=27970 And I'll probably change my TIM for that insane thing : http://www.frozencpu.com/products/15255/thr-135/MAINGEAR_Epic_T1000_Engineered_Thermal_Interface_ETI_Kit_for_Core_i5_LGA_1155_1156_-_2_Pack.html?tl=g8c127s1605 It's gonna be even better (hurray for great cooling)

Which means running the temps up really high til the TIM flows.
Erosannin Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I will swap my fans for 4 Sanyo Denki San Ace with a ton of Static pressure. Gotta be a whole other level of cooling with my H100
Erosannin Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 And Stoner, as for 3 different reviews I've read on the Maingear T-1000 TIM, there was no cure time at all for them. I don't see why there should have one for me.
Stonerboy779 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 (edited) And Stoner, as for 3 different reviews I've read on the Maingear T-1000 TIM, there was no cure time at all for them. I don't see why there should have one for me. I didn't say cure I said burn in. The application process requires letting it heat up to a point where it flows. Edit: just did a quick search and it appears 98C is the reflow temp. Edited May 7, 2012 by Stonerboy779

Muchoman1 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 http://www.frozencpu.com/products/8752/fan-538/Yate_Loon_120mm_x_38mm_Fan_-_Low_Speed_D12SL-12D.html?tl=g36c15s562#blank i would either get these fans or the 1850rpm gentle typhoons. these are slower speed and quieter, but due to their extra thickness and steeper fan pitch they have great static pressure, perfect for rads
Erosannin Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 (edited) Sanyo Denki has a whole world more Static Pressure than the slow gentle typhoon you said Mucho Edited May 7, 2012 by Erosannin
