Ripped out Laptop Monitor

So recently, my HP-HDX 16t 1200 died but the screen was still good

Anyone have any ideas on how I can hook it up to my computer as a 2nd monitor?

There are stand alone driver boards you can buy to connect them up, if you can find one that works with your panel.

That's pretty cool, but would it be worth it???

 

You could just buy an actual monitor for cheaper that'd give you no fuss

I don't think it would be worth the money or the trouble, you could pick up a good used lcd pc monitor for the price of that circuit board.

Well the laptop is dead so might as well make use of the remaining parts eh?

Finding the correct LVDS cable and controller board is always the biggest challenge.  However if you can find the parts you need at a price that makes this a worthwhile proposition it is a fun project.

Unless you sell it since i see it's a 1920x1080 panel, and I'm sure at the right price you could find a buyer (maybe someone with that laptop but with the lower resolution screen?) but attaching it as a second monitor would be awkward and likely a hassle.
