The Smith Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Everyone may have access to it but not everyone has the know-how to put the equipment to use. Plus it doesn't reflect what the average user can expect to get. Yeah I know But there are nice tutorials on the Internet
ccokeman Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Oh...yeah I see. Intel's latest generation, the 965 XE can OC to 5.6 GHz, while AMD's latest generation can OC to 6.6GHz, surely AMD can't beat Intel's older lineup? *Cough* Above *Cough* While running at 6GHz its still slower in processing tasks than the I7 at 5.6GHz. Run Cinebench 10, Super Pi, wPrime, decode movies and see which one comes out on top at those speeds.

The clock-for-clock performance is close enough that the Phenom II would have the upper edge with a 1 GHz (or 18%) advantage in clock speed. Regardless, no normal user will ever run liquid helium, dry ice, or even phase change. Hell, even water isn't common.
