Enyce2k9 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 (edited) Hello peeps, just did this forum on the FS page because i dont know what better place for you buyers/sellers to read this. I ordered a 5MP camera from The_WRATH ( http://forums.overclockersclub.com/The_WRATH-m12508.html ) Its been over 3 weeks now, no camera here! Luckily i payed him by Paypal and i filed the claim. I have sent numerous PM's and he never responded after reading them (prooved by the tracking systems). Just making sure you peeps are safe and stay away from this guy! http://www.heatware.com/eval.php?id=37374 http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...userid=enyce2k9 thats my feedback there, just making sure you peeps know that im not some kid believing im getting ripped off. Enyce2k9 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 meanwhile ill stick with what paypal told me, they seem great btw, they said they sent an email to him and within 10 days he MUST give them a tracking # /proof. if he doesnt respond i win the case get my $ back. if he responds it would be further reviewed and would take about 30 days. either way im sure paypal will help me get my $ back and keep it far away from these thiefs

thavarin Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 (edited) well actually they are not that great, if the user does not have money in his account THEY will try and get it back. I got ripped off from a scamm for over 400 dollars. The user cashed out on the money as soon as I sent it to him. Paypal never got back after they they stated the 10 days bs. when I say money I meant his paypal account balance. gravy Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 yeah, if the Paypal acct is not linked to a bank account, and he emties the Paypal acct as soon as he received payment, then there's no money to collect
Enyce2k9 Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 so what would paypal do after that
gravy Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 i dont know, my dad had a similiar situation he sent $400 via Paypal to a guy for a laptop on ebay, laptop never came, gave him a week, kept emailing excuses, it shipped yesterday, never shows up, email him, he says oh yeah, it didnt ship, will ship tomorrow, etc...etc.... so my dad filed with Paypal like you did, and he filed with ebay, and then he looked at the guys feedback and saw another unsatisfied customer, contacted him, and together they found out where the guy lived, contacted the local sheriff, they went and picked him up, told him he would get out when my dad either had the exact laptop in his hands or the money back.......lol it only took a few hours for him to have one of his friends western union all $400 back if the guy's Paypal account is empty, they can try to watch it and nab any money he puts back in it, but if he is smart he will sign up for a completely new paypal acct to avoid that, not really much Paypal can do if there's no money there and he closes his account, you may have better luck doing some homework yourself and finding out his real name and where he lives and contacting the local authorities try www.zabasearch.com it will give you address, directions, weather, phone number and everything of a person if they are in the database, pretty scary stuff actually you can also work with the OCC site admin and get a IP address, then go to this site http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm?GetLocation it's pretty accurate, when i visit it it shows me where i live just by auto detecting my IP
